The addition of the new detailed race reporting system is generating a firestorm of work/paperwork during this Nederlandse tour. I'm now expected to read all these transcripts, review everyone's performance, and provide an audit after each race.
The first report was a breeze. I congratulated Rudolf after finishing the prologue and confirmed he rode in top form. He had a really fast time, so I wasn't too surprised when I learned he finished 2nd on the stage. Gabriel said his brake cables seemed loose, but it was immaterial as he and Divino were practicing anyway. Wryen and I met, briefly went through the audit, and proceeded to drink many bottles of champagne, all from petty cash of course. He just kept going on and on about Art Cruse, and how, after many attempts with great riders, that he hasn't had such high hopes for success since.
The second one was even easier, but a bit tense. I caught up with the team at the finish line, again congratulating Rudolf, and the team, and confirmed he rode in top form. Wryen continued to spend frivolously during the audit, raving mad about the race organizers. He was convinced Rudolf should have been rewarded some seconds for his 2nd place finish in Hengelo.
I don't quite remember all the events of that night, but the next report spoke for itself. Vojislav and Divino had an off day. Vojislav has been racing often to get back into shape after his rest, so his discipline is a little bit lower right now. Gabriel went down around the final corner, but Rudolf confirmed his top form and luckily finished 5th, only losing 6 seconds. Wryen was even more furious now, and blamed Lucian for the crash because of brake line from stage 1 audit. I had to get Lucian into training immediately to increase his skill.
The crash was really nasty, as the next race report sadly reflected. Most of the team had an off day. Mikuláš had another mechanical as well, and got dropped early. Old man Damario had to jump off, during a natural, and ended up merely helping Gabriel and Divino survive their off days. Somehow Vojislav kept Rudolf near the front, and his top form barely saved him a top 9 result, losing 11 more seconds and dropping to 5th in the general classification. Wryen isn't happy about the "off day's" at all. I have to get up early to play psychiatrist and rally them back to winning. The competition is so close now, and Rudolf is right in the fold. Lucian has been checking bikes all night, and Kostya even went to a local seminar.
Rudolf landed his second ever victory today, but the audit was still tough. Vojislav had an off day, he and Damario both had a slight mechanical today. Wryen is still pissed at Lucian because Mikuláš nearly injured himself during a hard fall and he had a mechanical during the previous stage. Rudolf still might need a few seconds to hold onto the grey jersery! Wryen's really nervous Damario or Vojislav might have an incident during the final stage now, so I have to do an in depth background check on Lucian.
It's been a long rough tour. I'm going to have so many journal entries to make when I get back to the office. :/
Rudolf, and the team, made the final audit super easy. Rudolf was able to hold NCCC's wheel and finished 2nd on the stage... securing 2nd GC, and finally proudly claiming the YC jersey for Luveaucek. Mikuláš did have another mechanical, but recovered fine. My nerves are shot, what a tour! Quick lay over in Belgium tomorrow, then I can return home ... for a few days.

Haha. The jersey :-)
Doh, you meant my team jersey I bet, Not the NL tour... ha
Sadly, that is my feeling as well. I've lost it with better captains, IMO, and teams...
Just the way it is, I guess.
Nice jersey! It almost has depth
Like I said, damn race reports.
It'll be a nightmare when it all goes live......
OMG, it's sooooo long!
